North of Stockholm, there are serious disruptions and stoppages in train traffic.
The reason is the fire at Arlanda earlier on Thursday and an electrical fault.
– The latest we heard about the fire in the tunnel is that there will be a forecast from the Swedish Transport Administration at 19:00, they are an ongoing police operation in the tunnels under Arlanda, says Claes Keisu, press officer at Trafikförvaltningen Region Stockholm
At 2:30 p.m., the alarm came from Arlanda about smoke developing at the train station. Traffic was stopped and a police operation was launched.
Shortly after that, the next event occurred which put the train traffic in jeopardy.
– It is a demolition contact line between Rosersberg and Märsta, says Claes Keisu.
The incidents have caused canceled trains and delays.
– We have a track open with some traffic. But it is the Swedish Transport Administration that makes the priority decisions about which trains will go through, whether they are long-distance or commuter trains, says Claes Keisu.
SL has also started a ticket collaboration with SJ on the route between Uppsala and Stockholm, where several trains have been cancelled.
– You can travel with all the companies, if you have an SJ ticket you can travel on an SL train, for example, says Keisu.
