Armand Duplanti’s manager hits back – unexpectedly honest words after the money rumor about Mondo: “I don’t think that…”

Armand Duplantis is no longer rumored to be the highest paid track and field athlete in the world.
But that image is now knocking his agent down.
– He has been working on his contract the whole time, says Daniel Wessfeldt to Aftonbladet.

Armand Duplanits is Sweden’s top sports star right now, and one of the greatest in athletics. Duplantis has several world records, championship medals, and it is now more the rule than the exception that Duplantis’ players easily win all the competitions he enters.

Duplanti’s success has also left an impression on the wallet. World records mean lucrative bonuses from sponsors, and although athletics sponsorship contracts are secret, it’s no secret that Duplantis is extremely well paid. All athletics galas want Duplantis there, as there is always a chance for a world record, and always a high top level.

Armand Duplanti’s agent, Daniel Wessfeldt, has long maintained that Mondo is athletics’ highest paid. But sprint superstar Noah Lyles recently signed a new contract with Puma. According to Lyle’s manager, the contract is the best since Usain Bolt’s glory days in 2017, when Bolt earned a whopping 110 million kroner a year. What Lyle’s new contract is worth is not known, but not everyone agrees that it is the best paid. If it is true that the contract is the biggest since Bolt, it would also mean that Armand Duplantis is no longer the highest paid in the athletics world.

And that is precisely what Daniel Wessfeldt distances himself from, as he believes that Mondo is probably still at the top of the payroll.

– Yes, nobody knows what others earn, but I don’t think he has overtaken Mondo, who worked up his contract all the time. But it’s hard to say, says Mondo’s manager to Aftonbladet, and continues:

– But there is no doubt that they are the two highest paid track and field athletes in the world, possibly along with the ladies’ Sydney McLaughlin.

Armand Duplanti’s shoe contract with Puma is said to be worth around 30 million Swedish kronor a year, and add to that all the bonuses for world records and gala winnings.

– Mondo’s first contract from 2019 has been extended on very favorable terms and is now valid over the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028, says Wessfeldt.
