For a long time, Marvel has dominated the superhero genre in film. But other studios have also taken on the topic and found new perspectives. In the first part Connor (Robbie Amell) has to take care of his sick mother. Since he lives in poverty, his only way to get money is to join a criminal group. The crew, led by Garrett (Stephen Amell), plans a large-scale bank robbery.
In the sequel The talented people are still under strict control of the state. Superheroes are still banned. Connor now earns his living as a caretaker. But then he meets Pavani (Sirena Gulamgaus). The supernaturally gifted teenager is pursued by corrupt police officers. The two seek support from drug baron Garrett.

The Amell cousins are Robbie and Stephen more than familiar with the superhero genre. While Stephen served justice as the title character on Arrow for 8 seasons, Robbie showed his heated temper as Firestorm on The Flash in the same series universe.
Surprising sci-fi sequel: Even a third part of Code 8 is possible
As a short film on YouTube, Code 8 was a minor success that found many fans. It is thanks to these fans that the feature film was made, as it was distributed via Indiegogo Donated $2.5 million for it. The first feature film was not a Netflix production, but could be streamed on Netflix in the USA. The streaming numbers may have convinced Netflix to continue with Code 8. Netflix bought the rights and gave Jeff Chan and the Amell cousins the opportunity to continue telling the sci-fi series.
Although the end of the first part was open and the story didn’t feel complete, the project remained quiet after that. The film didn’t make any big waves, especially in this country. The takeover of Netflix only became known when production on part two had started surprised many fans. In Germany, the first part was evaluated on Amazon, which should make the sequel on Netflix even more surprising for many.

When production began on Part 2, Robbie Amell posted a picture on Instagram in which he also hinted at a possible third part. In the caption he wrote:
