A scooter accident has occurred at Låktatjåkko mountain station in Kiruna municipality.
According to the police, two people must have driven down a slope.
– We have helped to fly mountain rescuers there, says Marcus Clemert, air rescue leader at the Maritime and Air Rescue Centre.
The alarm came at 10.40. According to the police, the people are in steep terrain and need to be winched up to a helicopter.
Mountain rescuers and the Maritime and Air Rescue Centre, JRCC, have been called to the scene.
The injury status of the two involved is unclear.
– We have lent one of our helicopters and flown up mountain rescuers. We will also assist with winch capacity, says Marcus Clemert.
At 12:50 p.m., he has not received any information about whether the people have yet been winched up.
An ambulance helicopter is also participating in the operation but, according to the police, has not been able to land due to difficult terrain.
