Dotter and Danny Saucedo to the final in Melodifestivalen

The entry “It’s not easy to write a love song” is Dotter’s fourth in Melodifestivalen and the third time she goes directly to the final. Before the Melodifestivalen in Eskilstuna, Dotter was the pre-favourite, but she failed with the betting companies before the competition, after all the trouble with her voice.

Debutants “Idol” runner-up Albin Tingwall and metal duo Scarlet go to the qualifying final in next week’s competition in Karlstad.

Danny Saucedo was the first to advance in the heats. The entry “Happy that you found me” was voted directly to the final by Melodifestivalen’s viewers.

Danny Saucedo has not boasted that he is in the competition to fight for a place in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö in May.

– I go for profit, he has previously told TT.

Going to the final for the fifth time

It is the fifth time Danny Saucedo has participated in Melodifestivalen as an artist and the fifth time he has gone directly to the final.

The competition began with a tribute to the city’s great sons: Kent. Björn Gustafsson sang the band’s song “Gravitation” together with his brother Oscar, who accompanied him on guitar.

– Thank you Eskilstuna for Kent, said Björn Gustafsson after the performance.

During the evening, a meta feature was also shown about how the comedian developed the sketch material for the competition in character as the Norwegian actor Kristofer Hivju. Then Gustafsson tried his hand at a magic act with a floating table, which of course went wrong in various crazy ways.

The sister trio Chattanooga was inducted into the Melodifestivalen’s Hall of Fame with the song “Hallå hela pressen” in 1982. The trio was in the arena in their original jackets from when they set out and performed
