(Finance) – The White House announced that the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloniwill be in Washington on Thursday 1 March to meet the American president, Joe Biden, “to reaffirm the strong relationship between the United States and Italy.” In a statement from the spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre it is anticipated that the two leaders “will discuss shared approaches to addressing global challenges, including commitment to continued support for Ukraine and countering Russian aggression, preventing regional escalation in the Middle East, the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, developments in North Africa and close transatlantic coordination regarding China”.
Furthermore, the White House spokeswoman added, Biden and Meloni “will discuss the Italian presidency of G7 and will coordinate the NATO summit in Washington in advance.”
