The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Thursday that it will disburse $880 million, equivalent to just over nine billion kroner, to Ukraine in the third phase of a $15.6 billion aid package approved last year.
The disbursement, confirmed almost to the day two years after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, must first be approved by the IMF’s board.
A delegation from the IMF, which was recently in the country to evaluate how well Ukraine has achieved the goals of the four-year aid package, estimates that it will cost about 486 billion dollars to rebuild Ukraine after the war.
