At 00:39 on Friday night, Intuitive Machines announced in their livestream from the landing that their probe IM-1, also called Odysseus, had completed the journey, landed on the moon and that contact had been established.
It is the first time a private probe has landed on the moon.
The probe – a collaboration between Nasa and Elon Musk’s company Space X – took off from Florida a week ago.
