Sweden sends warships to Ukraine

The package, which totals SEK 7.1 billion, is the 15th that Sweden is sending to Ukraine.

“Ultimately, it’s about humanity and decency,” says Defense Minister Pål Jonson (M) at a press conference.

– It is also about defending values ​​and interests that are important to Sweden and Sweden’s interests.

This support package includes:

  • 10 Battleboat 90
  • 20 group boats
  • Underwater weapons, such as mines and torpedoes
  • A number of anti-aircraft systems of the type Robot 70
  • Anti-tank robots of the model TOW
  • Grenade rifle with ammunition
  • Artillery ammunition
  • Hand grenades
  • The Carl Gustaf grenade rifle
  • Medical equipment
  • Ambulance vehicles
  • 1 billion to buy military equipment through various funds, as well as 1 billion to order new combat vehicles 90 for Ukraine
  • SEK 400 million for various educational initiatives for Ukrainians
  • According to the defense minister, the new support package is specifically designed according to Ukraine’s needs.

    – Since we do not have unlimited resources in our own war organization, it is important to create conditions for delivering newly produced defense equipment, says Pål Jonson.

    Already on Monday evening, Dagens Nyheter reported that the new support package is record-breaking and includes a total of SEK 7.1 billion.

    With the previous support packages that Sweden has already sent to Ukraine, Sweden has now contributed a total of just over SEK 30 billion.
