USA University of Michigan consumer confidence down in August

(Finance) – Expected improvement American consumer confidence in February 2024. According to preliminary data from the University of Michigan, consumer sentiment is estimated to increase to 79.6 points compared to 79 points in January, but lower than the expectations of analysts who expected a level to increase only up to 80 points .

In the same period the index on present situation worsened to 81.5 points from the previous 81.9 points (expectations were for 82 points), while the index on expectations it rose to 78.4 points from the previous 77.1 (the consensus was at 76.5 points).
