Another career best from Elian Lehto – see how the Finn roared to the TV cameras | Sport

Elian Lehdostas huge success rating The Swiss world champion boss

Elian Lehto had a blast in Kvitfjell in the super giant slalom and reached the top 20 for the first time in the World Cup.

Elian Lehto was 18th in the alpine skiing world cup Kvitfjell super giant slalom in Norway. This is the best ranking of the Finnish career on the super giant slalom slope of the World Cup.

Lehto was 0.64 seconds behind the winner.

Lehto visibly roared after his bill and vented for the TV cameras. After the race, at Ski Sport Finland’s press conference, Lehto calmly answered the media’s questions.

– It’s a good thing that the previous record was improved. It was a good bill. The slope is quite easy for us skiers, especially when it had to be shortened due to rain, Lehto said.

Lehto made alpine skiing history on Saturday after securing a place as the first Finn to compete in the World Cup finals of the fall downhill in Italy in March. The final race of the fall race is scheduled in Saalbach on March 24.

Before that, Lehto plans to compete in Central Europe in lower league level European Cup competitions.

– Let’s see how those conditions in Central Europe develop. There is still snow in the centers located at high altitude, so there are quite meaningful competitions on offer there. “Probably from the beginning of the week, we will make more detailed plans about the program for the coming weeks,” says Lehto.
