Irma from IJsselstein lost her daughter Petra 13 years ago, while the latter was on her way to work. “She really enjoyed working for the police in Utrecht and was on her way to her station,” Irma explains, “she became unwell while cycling and died. That is almost unbelievable when your child is only 37.” Irma misses her daughter enormously. Yet life is still very dear to her: “I enjoy my son and his family. Doing things together.” Her key ring – no more than a ring with the house key – still bears the hallmark of the police: “That way she is always with me.”
