The stop comes after the Dutch Consumer Agency NVWA has ordered Babboe to stop selling the bikes after a large number of reports of cracked frames. The NVWA warns that a broken frame can lead to very serious injuries if a child falls out of the bike’s box.
The Swedish distributor of Babboe signs on its website that they have temporarily stopped the delivery of all bicycles from Babboe and that they are also preparing a recall of certain models.
Babboe in the Netherlands previously recalled the City box bike model built 2010–2012 and 2017 to June 2018, due to the frame.
