Sven-Göran Eriksson’s wish: to coach Liverpool.
Now “Svennis” gets what he wants.
The former head coach is to be part of the Premier League club’s management staff at a charity match in March.
The 76-year-old, who has cancer and has said he may only have a year to live, has been clear about his wish in interviews. His biggest dream has been to coach Liverpool.
Premier League club manager Jurgen Klopp was quick to open the doors to the team’s facilities.
– Of course he is very welcome. He can sit in the chair in my office and do my job for a day if he wants to, the German told The Telegraph.

Now Liverpool chooses to do the same. Eriksson will be part of the leadership staff of the team with legends at a charity match against Ajax at Anfield on March 23.
“Everyone associated with the club and the LFC Foundation look forward to welcoming LFC supporter Sven and his family,” the club writes on its website.
Even the former big players Ian Rush, John Barnes and John Aldridge must be part of the coaching staff.
Liverpool’s legendary team consists of, among other things Jerzy Dudek, Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio and Djibril Cisse. Ryan Babel will play for both Liverpool and Ajax.
