There are great risks of freezing rain in, among other places, Gothenburg on Monday, SMHI warns. It can cause problems in traffic.
– We have an orange warning issued, then you should consider whether you have to go out, says Charlotta Eriksson, meteorologist at SMHI.
– When the rain falls on cold roads, it can get really slippery. So if you can stay at home, it might be better to do so.
The warning applies to the west coast and a bit inland, from Lysekil–Uddevalla and south past Kungsbacka.
– Traffic can be affected, but in areas with overhead power lines there is also a risk of power outages, says Charlotta Eriksson.
The risk of slipping has caused, among other things, the cancellation of several bus routes. In Orust, all school buses have also been withdrawn, local media reports.
The freezing rain warning applies for most of the day. After that, the rain is expected to change to snow. A yellow warning for snow has been issued for large parts of Dalsland and Värmland.
