NATO sends Patriot air defense systems to Slovakia

Slovakian Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad stated that due to the Russia-Ukraine war, Patriot air defense systems provided by Germany and the Netherlands were temporarily sent to Slovakia in order to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank.

NATO SOLDIERS WILL WORK

Noting that the air defense system will be deployed at the air base in the city of Sliac, Nad emphasized that 2,100 NATO soldiers will be deployed in the country in this context.

Nad noted that the Patriot air defense system will not replace the Russian-made S-300 air defense system that the country already has, but will only strengthen the protection of the country’s airspace.

Stating that the S-300s are planned to be replaced due to their age, technical condition and capabilities, Nad stated that he is ready to give the S-300s he already has to Ukraine, if another air defense system is given to his country. (AA)
