The Rick and Morty makers like to test the audience’s pain threshold on a regular basis. The story framework of the sci-fi adventure becomes riddled with disturbing content. Bloodthirsty massacres, depression, torture, suicide and the wavering morals of the two main characters make the series a unique, often masterful, but often unsettling experience. But the sci-fi masterpiece recently seemed to be on the verge of extinction. Justin Roiland, series creator and long-time original voice of the two main characters, was charged with domestic violence in 2020. After the charges were dropped for lack of evidence, more people spoke out against Roiland, NBC reported. Among other things, he was accused of sexual assault. Roiland has since stepped away from the production of Rick and Morty.
After the scandal, many fans feared for the fate of the series. The new seventh season of Rick and Morty was also released in Germany in October 2023. But what does the future of sci-fi adventure look like?

According to Screenrant, the eighth season of Rick and Morty will appear in the USA from 2025. We assume that the German launch will take place close to the initial release.
