Fewer and fewer apply for personal registration plates. Last year, the Swedish Transport Agency approved 3,020 signs – the lowest number in five years.
“The troubled economic times make people hold their wallets a little tighter,” says Eva Isaksen, investigator at the Swedish Transport Agency, in a press release.
The possibility of obtaining a personal registration plate was introduced in 1988. It currently costs SEK 6,200 and the right is valid for ten years.
