PlayStation 5’s latest beta update will make it easier for you to hear what’s going on in your game. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced a software update that will enable DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers to produce louder sound so you can hear in-game sounds and voice chats more clearly.

In addition to giving controllers the ability to produce louder sounds, the update also adds support for the noise canceling feature. Sony’s announcement says the controllers now have better microphone input, thanks to a new AI machine learning model. This will give the PS5’s system the ability to suppress background noises such as game audio, allowing your voice to be transmitted clearly and improving the quality of voice chats as a whole.
The update also brings non-audio related improvements to PS5; this includes the option to adjust the console’s power indicator under “Beep and Light” in System Settings. It will also give you access to Screen Sharing tools that you, as a viewer, can use to interact with the server’s gameplay. There is a pointer that you can move or use to draw a line on the screen and highlight objects in the game.
