The controversial TV profile, journalist and debater is currently in Moscow.
– We are here to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin, says Tucker Carlson in the clip.
He states that there is a risk with interviews like this, but that it is a journalist’s mission to carry it out – above all for the sake of the Americans.
– They have no real idea of what is happening here in Russia or 100 miles away in Ukraine. But they should be told that they are paying too much of this in ways they may not understand, he says.
The controversial Tucker also points out that the war in Ukraine is a humanitarian disaster and that it can have long-term effects, both militarily but also in the form of sanctions against Russia.
– In the long run, it has turned the global economy upside down.
Left Fox News last year
It was last April that Tucker Carlson left the conservative news channel Fox News after 14 years.
Carlson became Fox’s most popular profile after replacing Bill O’Reilly in the channel’s primetime show in 2016, and has become known for being controversial—for example, regarding the January 6, 2021, storming of the Capitol.
The resignation came shortly after Fox News and vote-counting company Dominion reached a settlement in a case in which Carlson and several other Fox News employees testified.
Dominion Voting Systems claimed it knew then-President Donald Trump’s claims of voter fraud were untrue — but continued to air them on its shows.
