Comedian Hampus Hedström is one of the new participants in “Over the Atlantic”. A trip that turned out to be much worse than he could have imagined.
– I slept strapped to the deck, he says in Efter fem.
In “Over the Atlantic” a group of celebrities sail together with the circumnavigator Gurra Krantz. This year the crew consists of, among others, Malin Gramer, Anders Öfvergård and Tobbe Blom, also known as Tobbe Trollkarl.
This year is the first year that the boat goes to Rio de Janeiro, and during the entire boat journey – a whole three weeks, the comedian Hampus Hedström felt nauseous.
– I tried everything – motion sickness bands, motion sickness pills, motion sickness plasters. I probably got the most seasick in all six seasons of “Over the Atlantic” history, he says.
Warns viewers
Hedström was told that the nausea would go away, but it never did. He doesn’t want to reveal too many details about the trip, but takes the opportunity to warn viewers.
– You must not be sensitive if you are going to watch the programme, says the comedian.
Hampus Hedström was so nauseous that he couldn’t go under the table, so he had to resort to a creative solution.
– I strapped myself to the bow and the cockpit and slept there for hours, he says.
Doubtful about another trip
But the nausea is not the only thing that Hedström remembers from the trip. He also emphasizes that it was wonderful with many amazing experiences. However, when Hampus Hedström is asked if he would run again, he hesitates.
– Ask me again in a year, he says.
“Over the Atlantic” has its season premiere on Tuesday evening on Kanal 5 and Discovery Plus.
