But already tonight, it’s time for Duplantis to give the audience a real performance during their own gala “Mondo Classics” in Uppsala.
– We try to make it more like a show than a normal athletics competition. Because it can get a bit boring sometimes and pole vaulting is the best event and the coolest event, he says in an interview with Radiosporten.
– It means everything to me to have my own gala, it has been a dream since I was little. It’s a bit more pressure, of course, but in a great way and I like the pressure.

But after he chose to compete for Sweden as a teenager, Duplantis has also opened his eyes to “Mello”, as it is popularly called. And now the pole vault star gives his honest view on what he really thinks about the SVT program.
– Is it possible now? Ah okay. Yes, but I’ll look into that a bit more. I checked a bit last year and it was a lot of fun. So fun to follow and watch, so I’ll do that, Mondo admits to the radio channel.
