If cats and dogs could talk, they would no doubt share this tip for keeping “peace” when a baby approaches them. Indeed, toddlers love pets, like to play with them, but they can also be a little rough or pull their hair, whiskers or tails. Sometimes their little cuddles can even seem a little oppressive to our animal friends. This starts from good attention, but they are still young to understand how to act with their faithful companion and respect their peace.
What is reassuring is that domestic animals have understood that they should not balk or rebel in the face of a child, at the risk of being scolded by their master. They know that babies in diapers are rather clumsy, and that they have to avoid them or run to another room if they don’t want to get their hair pulled.
On Tiktok, the video published by @maestrosuniversalesdeluz filming a cat facing a baby created a buzz. And for good reason: we see the feline sitting in the little one’s bed, frozen like a statue. The baby in diaper then walks in his direction while holding on to the bars, addresses him with a few babbles, without really paying attention to the little ball of fur. His technique for going unnoticed by the toddler is hilarious. The cat simply makes you believe that it is a stuffed animal! And he takes his role very seriously: he doesn’t move a bit, his eyelids remain still, he doesn’t blink at any time and holds his breath. Once the child walks away, the cat turns its head towards him to make sure he is out of danger, and appears relieved.
