The USA announced that it carried out attacks in the region for the first time in response to the attack on the American base on the Syria-Jordan border on January 28.
In the written statement made by CENTCOM, it was reported that at least 85 targets belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Army Quds Force and affiliated militia groups in Syria and Iraq were hit by air strikes.

It was stated in the statement that long-range bombers taking off from the USA were also involved in the attacks and more than 125 guided bombs were used, and that command and control centers, rockets, missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles were hit in the targeted areas.
In the attack on the US base called Tower 22, 3 American soldiers were killed and more than 40 soldiers were injured.
The US administration had announced that in response to the attack in question, it would launch multi-layered attacks spread over time and that Iranian-backed groups would be targeted.
