What events are they about? The spotlight hour usually takes place on Tuesdays. Here, a predetermined Pokémon appears in every nook and cranny of the wild for 60 minutes. In addition, there is always a bonus.
You have to keep this in mind: There are only three dates waiting for you in February, because the spotlight hour is canceled on February 20th. It will be replaced by a raid hour with Cresselia, as “The Road to Sinnoh” is running during this period. The event features a different legendary raid boss every day, including its own raid hour.

When do the spotlight hours run? The spotlight hours take place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. You will meet the following Pokémon and candies in February.
If you’re lucky, all of the Pokémon shown here can also be caught as Shiny
Spotlight Hour on February 6th
Which Pokémon? The first spotlight hour in February 2024 brings you Dratini from the first generation of games. It belongs to the Dragon type.
Which bonuses are active? You get double XP for catching Pokémon.
Is it worth it? Dratini can evolve into Dragoran via Dragonair. This is one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO and is useful in both raids and PvP. If you are missing something or need candy, this is a good date.
Can you catch Shiny Dratini? Yes, the shiny version of Dratini is catchable in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on February 13th
Which Pokémon? In the second spotlight hour in February you will meet Somniam. It comes from the fifth generation of games and belongs to the Psycho type. It evolves into Somnivora.
Which bonuses are active? You get double candies for every catch.
Is it worth it? Neither Somniam nor Somnivora are known to be good attackers in raids or PvP.
Can you catch Shiny Somniam? Yes, the Shiny version of Somniam is available in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on February 27th
Which Pokémon? Sandan and Alolan Sandan are the Pokémon of the day. Sandan comes from the 1st generation of the game and is of the ground type, in the 7th generation the Alola form of the ice and steel type was added. Both evolve into their respective versions of Sandamer.
Which bonuses are active? There are double candies when you trade Pokémon with friends.
Is it worth it? Neither Sandan, nor Sandamer or the Alola variants of the two are particularly relevant as raid attackers. But Alola-Sandan at least still has a niche in the PvP battle league.
Can you catch Shiny Sandan? Yes, the shiny variants of both versions are in the game.
