It has been blowing hard also along the Norrland coast during Thursday, with a gale warning over the entire Baltic Sea. On the hospital grounds in Umeå, for example, plates have been blown down from the facade of the School of Dentistry, and the northern entrance to the hospital had to be blocked off, says an employee in the area.
– The plates are about 1.5-2 meters and razor sharp and it could have ended really badly if they blew on people and parked cars.
The person says that road signs also flew off, but appear to have been anchored.
Nasty near accident
The nasty incident at the bus stop on the hospital grounds was witnessed by several people nearby, and filmed from a building above the stop. The film shows how the gust of wind is so violent that the people have difficulty standing still, while it catches the pram.
Even though the person with the stroller was holding it with both hands, it was torn away and stopped by a hair’s breadth from the car that just passed. Fortunately, it seems to have gone well.
– We do not feel that anything happened to the child. The car did not appear to come into contact with the stroller from the room where we were standing, says the private person who filmed the incident.
