Puck Pieterse was immediately seen as one of the favorites for the world title at her first World Cup in 2023. But she, previously successful at the World Championships with the promises and juniors, got off to a poor start in Hoogerheide. Literally, because she couldn’t get her shoe into the pedal properly and missed her start completely. The damage was limited, because she was still able to keep up with the leading group.
