After a postponement, sci-fi fans only have to wait a few weeks until Dune: Part Two finally hits theaters. It shouldn’t be over after that, because director Denis Villeneuve has another part in mind. Now in a recent interview he has explained when the logical Dune end point has been reached for him.
Sci-Fi trilogy planned: After Dune 3 it should end
In a new interview with Time Magazine, Villeneuve briefly confirms that he after Dune 2 only a part want to rotate:
Dune Messiah should be the last Dune film for me.
The director has long spoken about the fact that he sees his Dune adaptation as a trilogy. The finale will then be based on the novel Dune Messiah, which was published in this country as The Lord of the Desert Planet *. However, a third film has not yet received the green light from the studio. Legendary will first wait for the success of Part 2.
