Last year had some highlights for film fans. The biggest event was the unlikely coming together of two blockbusters, the could hardly be more different. The partly black and white nightmare Oppenheimer opened in cinemas on the same day as the brightly colored fantasy musical comedy Barbie.
Initially there was great skepticism as to whether both films could survive at the box office. Finally transformed Barbenheimer into a pop culture phenomenon and caused the biggest screen sensation since the beginning of the pandemic. Not even established franchises like Marvel and Fast & Furious could keep up.

Barbie grossed $1.45 billion at the cinema and became the most successful film in 2023. Oppenheimer is scratching the billion mark. Both films are now being released for the first time in a streaming subscription. Sky has grabbed the titles and will be showing them to all subscribers on its streaming service WOW from February or March:

From March 20, 2024 you can also recreate Barbenheimer in the home cinema via WOW and watch both films watch directly one after the other. Recommendation: First take the massive Oppenheimer, which will keep you entertained for three hours, and end the evening with the colorful (and no less emotional) Barbie.
In addition, the films shown on Sky Cinema. The mega-blockbuster Barbie will celebrate its linear TV premiere on February 16, 2024 at 8:15 p.m. Oppenheimer follows on March 29, 2024.
