88 keys: what is it?

The ideal number of keys

The number of keys on the keyboard is an essential element for those who practice at a certain level, because a acoustic piano has 88 keys, no more, no less. Therefore, if you want to feel comfortable when you are called upon to player out of your bases, on a keyboard which is not yours but which corresponds to the usual standard, the best thing is not to feel too out of place. This is the reason why, if you want to play extensively and progress in the best conditions, play on a keyboard that always (or at least most often…) has identical dimensions, namely 88 keys, it is critical.

If you want to be comfortable playing sheet music classics, you will have understood it, in order to be able to express yourself at best, it is preferable to find the traditional 88 keys, because if you have a 61-key keyboard or a 76-key keyboard, on the one hand, you will simply not be able to not play certain songs, on the other hand, you will probably be a little “lost” when your fingers will run to a different format.
