As a leaker reports, the online shooter Destiny 2 will have activities for 12 players in the future. Previously the maximum was 6 players in the raid. It could be that with “Final Shape” the time has come.
Where does the information come from?
What does the leak say?? Liz simply says that Destiny 2 will bring 12-player activities in the future.
There is no concrete timeline for when this will happen. But it’s likely that if Bungie brings something like this, it will be with the release of “The Final Shape” on June 4, 2024 or in a patch after that.
In 2021, a bug meant 12 players and more fun in the raid
Why would that be special? In Destiny, the maximum group size has always been 6, in raids. However, fans have speculated that Bungie might increase the number to 12 people for an “epic feeling.”
There was a bug for a while in 2021 that meant that players could go into activities with 12 people.
Bungie even left this bug active in Destiny 2 for a little longer than was necessary because they noticed how much players were having fun with this “problem”. Ultimately the bug was fixed.
Even back then, some players said that this feature brought a breath of fresh air to Destiny 2 and should become a permanent feature instead of remaining a bug (via reddit).
Since then, there has been repeated speculation that Destiny 2 is working on bringing special activities for 12 players, which could revitalize the Destiny formula, which has been somewhat dormant after almost 10 years.
