(Finance) – The synergies between the banking world and institutions are increasingly important for a concrete support for the growth of the PDO Economy of our country and the development of Italian agri-food excellence. It is from this premise that the conference “DOP Economy between growth and the future” organized by Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena – in collaboration with Confcommercio Siena, Wine&Siena and Qualivita Foundation – which was held this morning in Rocca Salimbeni, as part of the ninth edition of “Wine&Siena”.

The event, which opens the event dedicated to the world of wine of which MPS Bank is a historic partner, it saw the participation of authoritative experts in the agri-food and wine sector to promote a discussion on the development of an industry that represents an excellence of the Italian economic system.

The meeting opened with welcome greeting from the President of Banca Mps Nicola Maione who recalled the importance of agri-food and wine production of the highest quality that distinguish Italy also abroad and the precious role of agricultural businesses and rural territories that have created the uniqueness of our country with their work and dedication. Themes at the center of a broader discussion on the global context of ecological transition in which we all find ourselves operating today.

After the institutional greetings from the Councilor for Tourism, Commerce and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Siena Vanna Giunti, the President of the Province of Siena David Bussagli and the Provincial President of Confcommercio Siena Stefano Bernardini, the work continued with a round table with the experts of the sector and testimonies from the territories.

In the first part of the conference, Mauro Rosati, General Director of the Qualivita Foundation, who represented the values ​​of the DOP Economy and the challenges of the future, in particular for the wine sector, and Maria Chiara Zaganelli, General Director of ISMEA, who talked about the commitment of the Institution for the Italian agri-food sector, focusing attention on financial instruments, and Maurizio Bai, Chief Commercial Officer for Enterprises and Private Banks of Banca Mps, who described the evolution of the MPS offer in support of agrifood with innovative tools , expertise and specialized consultancy.

The second part of the round table saw as protagonists the representatives of some excellences in agri-food entrepreneurship, connected remotely from the various Italian territories: Nicola Bertinelli, President of the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium, Antonio Capaldo, President of Feudi di San Gregorio, Carlotta Gori, General Director Consorzio Tutela Vino Chianti Classico, Raniero Pallottini, CEO of SAL.PI, Massimo Panagia, Sole Director of France Latticini, and Fabrizio Schintu, General Manager of Magazzini Generali Fiduciari.

The conclusions were entrusted to the words ofCEO of Banca Mps Luigi Lovaglio which reiterated the importance of the wine sector for our economy. Wine is culture, environment, society, territory, lifestyle. Wine is an ambassador of the beauty of our country and as such must be enhanced and supported to bring out all its value.
