Gabriel Attal announces 10 immediate simplification measures

First of all, Gabriel Attal announced 10 immediate simplification measures. A decree will be published tomorrow. Here are the main ones:

  • The time limit for appealing a water-related project will be reduced from 4 months to 2 months for all farmers.
  • A level of jurisdiction will be removed to simplify all procedures.
  • The creation of a presumption of urgency so that a judge decides on a dispute in less than ten months.
  • Simplification of everything relating to cleanings.
  • A major change in the way the administration works with farmers to reduce pressure.
  • The single check for operators, once a year maximum.
  • A simplification of regulations on hedges. They will go from 14 to 1.

End of the increase in the tax on GNR, 50 million euros for the organic sector

The government has announced the end of the tax increase on GNR. By summer, the deduction will be made immediately when the RNG is delivered to farmers. “We will pay 50% of the cash advance next month”, or 215 million euros.

The Prime Minister also indicated that he wanted to “ensure EGalim is respected everywhere”. In particular by strengthening controls, putting maximum pressure on negotiations, and imposing three very heavy sanctions against companies that do not respect EGalim. “Our hand will not tremble” announces Gabriel Attal. A window dedicated to covering veterinary costs will also be open from February 5, 2024. “We will review the way of processing this aid,” he indicated. In addition, the emergency fund for Brittany will be doubled.

Concerning viticulture, a specific plan will be put in place to prepare for the future. Cash flow and overproduction measures will be put in place. 50 million euros will also be released for the organic sector. “We must simplify the CAP, the President of the Republic will request an exemption on the question of fallow land. We will move forward on the subject of meadows” said Gabriel Attal.
