Gerard Butler has become a real action hero in recent years. He usually plays more or less shining heroes. Not so in Criminal Squad: Here we experience the mime in an absolute unpleasant role as a dirty cop. The whole thing is very reminiscent of an action classic and is on TV today.
That’s what Criminal Squad is all about
The gang around Ray Merrimen (Pablo Schreiber), Donnie Wilson (O’Shea Jackson Jr.) and Enson Levoux (Curtis “50 Cent Jackson) consists primarily of ex-marines and now specializes in robberies. The criminals decide together , the Robbing the Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles. However, it is considered impregnable and has therefore never been attacked.
Opposite them is a completely different, just a little bit less criminal gang: the police. In this case, it is Detective Nick “Big Nick” O’Brien (Gerard Butler) who takes on the bank robber gang. This cop is a particularly unpleasant fellow not afraid to break the law.
Criminal Squad is very reminiscent of Heat and Gerard Butler is really unpleasant in it
A well-planned robbery, a well-organized gang that pulls it off and a police officer who is obsessed with catching the criminals – does that sound familiar? Then you are not alone: Criminal Squad can be viewed as a dirty version of Michael Mann’s action masterpiece Heat and has many parallels.

However, Gerard Butler’s police officer seems even more unpleasant than the one played by Al Pacino. Detective Nick “Big Nick” O’Brien
