Golf: Putthaveri by Ludvig Åberg – just made the cut

After a good first round with three birdies in the first eight holes, it looked to be a nice climb for Åberg who had 68 strokes on the first day.

But then the problems started on hole 13. He made a nice drive for an eagle on the par 5 hole and would only add another birdie with a putt from four centimeters.

It grabbed the edge of the hole and out and settled three centimeters from the hole. Åberg also missed the given return putt via the edge of the hole and ended up in the same place as the birdie putt he had just missed.

– What is he doing? exclaimed Discovery’s commentator Mats Hallberg in surprise.

In 50th place before the weekend

Åberg then sunk his third short putt on the hole and could only smile at it and walk on after getting a bogey and falling two strokes short of what he should have performed.

After bogeys also on holes 14 and 17, the Swede landed on 72 strokes and -4 overall, where he just made the cut which went on -3 and is in joint 50th place.

He is eight strokes behind leading German Stephan Jaeger.

The best Swede is Alexander Björk who is tied for 23rd with -6, followed by Vincent Norrman who is tied for 36th with -5.
