This week there have been reports of a possible ceasefire in Gaza, something Israel now believes will not happen.
According to Reuters, a spokesperson for the Israeli government says that it continues to pursue its goal – to crush Hamas and bring home the hostages and that there will be no ceasefire.
According to the AP news agency, Hamas has received a proposal for a two-month ceasefire, in exchange for all hostages being released. Something Hamas reportedly refused.
