National team captain Veera Kauppi the worlds best floorball player

The key player of the Swedish Team Thorengruppen previously received the honor in 2017, 2018 and 2021. Justus Kainulainen was rated second on the men’s list.

Captain of the Finnish women’s national floorball team Veera Kauppi, 26, has been voted the best female player in the world for the fourth time in her career. The selection is traditionally carried out in a vote by the Swedish Innebandymagazinet, which includes journalists and coaches from the world’s leading countries.

Kauppi, representing Sweden’s top club, Team Thorengruppen from Umeå, had previously been chosen as the best in 2017–2018 and 2021. With his four titles, he shared the all-time top spot with the Swede, who has already finished his career Anna Wijk with.

Kaup’s year 2023 brought the gold of the Swedish Superliga and the Champions Cup. At the World Championships in Singapore, Finland took the silver after Sweden took a longer course again. Kauppi won the points exchange in the playoffs of the Swedish league, and he was also chosen as the most valuable player of the World Cup.

– The attention feels even better this time personally, because I’ve had bad luck with injuries. I decided that 2023 would be my year, Kauppi says to Innebandymaganizet.

– Mentally, the year was tough, and I’ve worked a lot on my self-confidence. The Swedish Superfinal was the highlight of the year, and I would have liked to say the World Cup as well, but the final did not go as planned.

In addition to Veera Kaup, the top ten Finns also included a twin sister Oona Kauppiwhich can be found eighth on the list.
