Tietoevry is the Västerbotten region’s supplier of healthcare materials and accounts for almost 70 percent of everything the region buys.
When they have now been hit by an IT attack, it hits hard and the region has gone into staff mode.
– We are now taking inventory in all our hospitals of what healthcare items we have, how long they will last. Whether it’s a matter of a few days or several weeks, we can manage, says Mattias Norrman, purchasing manager at Region Västerbotten.
– We must also try to find alternative solutions for ordering the deliveries, says Mattias Norrman.
Must prioritize hard
Currently, the region cannot place new orders for medical supplies. The orders are not processed in the computer system.
– We can order manually, but it takes time and is cumbersome. In this situation, we have to prioritize what we should order manually and what we can wait for later, says Mattias Norrman.
– How long this will last no one knows, but it hits us hard, says Mattias Norrman.
