If you missed it in the cinema, you can soon catch up on The Marvels by Nia DaCosta (Candyman) at home. Disney has announced the streaming start of the blockbuster starring Brie Larson.

Through a wormhole, the powers of the psychically gifted teenager Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), also known as Miss Marvel, the SABER astronaut Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Darol Danvers aka Captain Marvel are combined. The Marvels is looking for a bigger audience on Disney+

The Marvels was released in theaters in November but underperformed financially. The film only grossed around $200 million worldwide, which is the lowest result from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, as The Numbers shows. This makes things even more difficult considerable budget. Forbes estimates that up to $270 million was invested in the film and its advertising. Despite the poor reviews, The Marvels has a few positive surprises in store.

As Disney+ has confirmed, The Marvels is coming on February 7th also to Germany on the streaming platform. It remains to be seen whether the MCU blockbuster will find a larger audience there than in the cinema. To prepare, it’s worth watching the series Ms. Marvel on Disney+, which introduces Iman Vellani’s young heroine and her lovable family, and revisiting Brie Larson’s solo film Captain Marvel.
