Diablo 4: Season 3 starts today

The new Season 3 of Diablo 4 is now finally playable. We’ll take a look at the content and patch notes for you.

A new season in Diablo 4 means you can expect a new seasonal theme along with some balance changes. At the same time, the current season ends shortly beforehand. Here we’ll show you an overview of everything you need to know to get started.

When does Season 2 end? The end of Season 2 in Diablo 4 was on January 23rd at around 7:00 p.m. German time.

When does Season 3 start? Season 3 of Diablo 4 started promptly at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.

What happens in Season 3?

That is new:

  • New dungeon type “Vaults”
  • Robotic “Seneschal Companion” that you can customize
  • Leaderboards in “The Challenge”
  • Plus gameplay improvements, almost permanently active hellflood events and balance adjustments

    • Vaults in Diablo 4

    What is that? Dungeons are special dungeons whose powers were developed by Zoltun Kull and Ayuzhan. These dangers include “Constructs,” a new type of monster. There are several elementary types of them.

    After entering a dungeon, you must exchange Pearls of Protection to receive the Zoltun’s Protection blessing. This gives you access to the treasures in the vaults. However, this protection has a certain number of stacks, which you gradually lose when you die.

    If you still have Zoltun’s Protection active when you defeat the vault boss, you will receive a Wirewoven Chest. Items from it have an increased chance of being legendary.

    At World Tier III you unlock Nightmare Vaults. They function similarly to nightmare dungeons.

    Seneschal Companion

    This is how it works: Through the seasonal quest series you unlock your own Seneschal companion. You can use stones to customize the companion to best suit your build. Once unlocked, the companion will follow you for the entire season. We’ll show you a closer look at how you can customize it here:

    Leaderboards

    When are the rankings coming? With “The Challenge” seasonal leaderboards are coming your way. However, they will not be available right at the start of the season, but will only be activated later.

    The lists rotate weekly. Whoever can secure one of the best seats there will be immortalized in the Hall of the Ancestors.

    Patch notes

    What changes? Blizzard is bringing you some completely new items that all classes can carry. Including gauntlets that reflect damage. Adjustments to items and skills await you in the different classes.
