Four people have been found dead in a smoke-filled house on Romerike northeast of Oslo, a few miles from the border with Sweden.

Norwegian police describe the situation as difficult to assess, but have begun an investigation into murder.

– We responded to an alarm about a serious incident. The residence that we arrived at was full of smoke. There we have retrieved four people who are confirmed dead, says the police’s operations leader Magnus Hovelsrud Andersen to the news agency NTB.

The four dead have had some kind of relationship with each other, the police tell Norwegian media, but without further describing the people involved.
