They went on a road trip with their Scania

It’s not uncommon for self-employed truck drivers to become very attached to their trucks, and Scania has some of the most enthusiastic owners in the business.

The cars are often customized and modified to reflect the owner’s personality, and are also often kept in very fine condition.

The phenomenon is not limited to Sweden and Europe, but has also spread to China, where it has also been found out that there are special festivals for the favorite brand in Europe.

Long-distance Scania worshippers

Partners Liu Weitao and Gou Longxian run a haulage company in Shanghai together, and the truck they have chosen for their business is a Scania.

This summer, the two gentlemen decided to go to the Truckstar festival in the Netherlands, which is dedicated to the brand.

They therefore set out on a 1,300-mile journey in their V8-equipped Scania 650 S.

The truck covered the distance without mishap, and when it arrived the trip was noticed by Scania in a press release.

Will carry on the tradition

On location in the Netherlands, the Scania from China was the first truck with Chinese registration ever to visit the festival.

The car in question is painted in a Transformers motif, which Liu and Guo were proud to show off.

The visit was also a chance for Liu to gain inspiration as he himself runs China’s first truck festival, which debuted in 2023.

Went past Stockholm

When the festival was over, Liu and Guo did not steer the carriage home again, but instead set course for Skogås, south of Stockholm, to greet Svempa AB.

The company, run by Sven-Erik Bergendahl, is known for spectacularly modifying and decorating Scania trucks.

In China, the company is known in trucking circles after exhibiting the magnificent Svempa 999 build at the 2011 edition of the Shanghai Motor Show.
