What a dream weekend it was Frida Karlsson during the World Cup in Oberhof, Germany. Already on Friday, the Swede took her very first podium in a sprint race at the World Cup with a very impressive second place behind Lynn Svahn.

Then Frida followed it up by being the first across the finish line at the mass start and thereby securing the first World Cup victory in over a year. Not since the overall victory in Tour de Ski 2023 has Karlsson won a World Cup race.

On Sunday, the dream weekend continued with Karlsson being part of the Swedish team that outclassed everyone and took home the baton. Three days and three podium places, of which two victories is a very strong result for the 24-year-old.
Svahn’s passing
Frida Karlsson was also extremely relieved about that individual World Cup victory, which she had waited a long time for.
“Finally!!!”, wrote the Swedish skiing star in a post on Instagram.

Then teammate Linn Svahn took the opportunity to respond with a completely clever comment – which shows what a great friendship they have.
“Yes, it only took you 381… / Someone for whom it took 1,063”, writes Linn with a bitter aftertaste on Instagram.

Svahn went a full 1,063 days without winning a World Cup race, but has since lined up four victories in recent weeks. It is also noticeable how much joy Karlsson brings to the Swedish people, as quite a few have reached out on social media to congratulate.
“Congratulations Frida! There’s something about you and German competition places anyway,” writes a user on Instagram.
“Fantastic you! Congratulations Frida on a real great weekend!”, writes another.
“Big CONGRATULATIONS Frida. What forces and what a strike. You just flew away in the riot,” writes a third.
