More than a hundred days have passed since Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, which led to the outbreak of the Gaza War. Tens of thousands are reported to have been killed since then. Here is a summary of the war in numbers.

Since the war began, more than 25,100 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, according to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry. A further 62,600 people are said to have been injured.

Israel’s military claims to have killed around 9,000 combatants, without providing any evidence. The country claims that the high civilian death toll in addition to that is due to the fact that Hamas often positions itself in densely populated areas, close to homes and schools, for example.

Israel’s military says 195 soldiers have been killed.

Around 85 percent of Gaza’s residents have been forced to flee because of the war. UN officials say a quarter of the population of about 2.3 million people are starving.

In the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, more than 1,100 people were killed and about 250 people were taken hostage. About 100 people taken hostage by Hamas have been released. At least 27 hostages are believed to have been killed, according to Israeli reports.

Since the war between Hamas and Israel broke out, there has been an almost daily exchange of fire between Israel’s military and the militant Hezbollah movement in Lebanon. More than 195 people have been killed in Lebanon, most of them fighting for Hezbollah, according to an AFP tally. On the Israeli side, 15 people have been killed, according to the military.

Most figures come from parties to the war and have not been confirmed by independent sources.
