Ariel the dog was born with six legs, but thanks to a fundraiser she has now received an operation – and a long line of volunteers now want to give her a permanent home.
Last autumn, when the dog was just eleven weeks old, she was found abandoned outside a supermarket in South Wales.
She was named Ariel because the two extra hind legs resembled the tail fin of a mermaid. But the legs were unusable and “just hung”, reports say BBC.
“Everything went great”
But thanks to a fundraiser that managed to scrape together 15,000 pounds, that is around 200,000 kroner, Ariel has now been operated on.
– Everything went great. She has bounced back and is a happy little dog and we hope she will continue to live a great little life, said surgeon Aaron Lutchman, who managed to save her four usable legs, to the BBC.
Now Ariel lives temporarily with a family in West Wales, but many people have reached out to offer her a permanent home eventually.
