While for 2024, operators’ expectations show greater caution, especially for smaller companies; on the other hand, 50% of medium-large companies expect a growing turnover. If the Istat production index highlights a progressive slowdown during 2023 which leads the data for the first 10 months to record a slight decline (-1.4%), it is however more contained than the fashion system (-6.6% ). In 2022, Italy confirmed itself as the leading European exporter in the sectorwith 8.2 billion euros, and the fifth in the world, with a share of 10.1%, a clear improvement compared to 8.3% in 2019. This is the picture that emerged from the fifth edition of the economic survey “The Italian gold sector: new challenges in a constantly changing scenario”, created by Intesa Sanpaolo for Club degli Orafi and presented on the opening day of Vicenzaoro January.

Trends – Trendvision, the independent observatory of the Italian Exhibition Group curated by Paola De Luca, identifies five trends that characterize the collections present at Vicenzaoro January 2024. “Urban Essentials”, which celebrates the essential and mixes industrial materials such as titanium or ceramic with refined and minimalist details inspired by urban and gender neutral architecture. Style options include transformable pieces, earrings with removable pieces and layered bracelets. The neutral color palette of black, white, gunmetal gray and deep metallic tones allows for customized combinations. “Craftcore” it is the reconnection with the past, the “family treasure”, from cameos to coins in the name of repechage mixed with design. “Naturadelic”, embodies the bold fusion of the natural world with psychedelic aesthetics: nature fused with vibrant colors, organic shapes and innovative materials. Absolute freedom of interpretation of personal style is a matter of “Storystyling”: the art of combining and layering jewelry in unconventional ways, which tells distinct stories and reflects the wearer’s personality. Chains lend themselves well to creating layered jewelry in creative ways. Finally, the “Patternology”, with contrasting color palettes, stylized graphics and patterns characterized by simple and sophisticated geometric shapes that echo vintage geometries and charm, such as the timeless Art Déco or the retro-futuristic vibrations of the 70s.

For the high-end, in the windows of Vicenzaoro, the luxury brands of the Italian gold districts together with the best of European production with numerous companies from Germany, France and Spain.
