The true story behind the Netflix film The Snow Company is unbelievable: a group of plane passengers survive for 72 days in the grueling survival conditions of the Andes after a crash. The film adaptation follows the actual sequence of events very closely. However, the makers had to miss several birthday parties.
The Snow Company on Netflix only shows a birthday in the Andes
The Netflix film only focuses on the birthday of Numa (Enzo Vogrincic), who turned 25 in the icy cold of the Andes. As an idea, everyday ritual forms one stark contrast to the brutal situation of the passengers.

In reality, however, there were at least three other survivors, who celebrated their birthday 72 days between the plane crash and the rescue. Apparently in the literal sense: According to Screen Rant, Pancho Delgado’s (Valentino Alonso) birthday was celebrated with wine and singing, even though many passengers died in an avalanche shortly before.
The Snow Society is, if nothing else, about the survival of humanity under extremely adverse conditions. Emotional birthday scenes would have a correspondingly great weight. The fact that the otherwise very factual film omits the other birthday parties will primarily have to do with the running time. In its current form, The Snow Company is already 144 minutes long.
