The company that made the logo, Norrköping-based Edit and Björnen, sent out a press release about the updated logo on Thursday morning.
– The lion in the logo was perceived as too similar to an illustration of a lion we bought from an image bank. When a logo is perceived as too similar to something existing and is not unique to its brand, then of course we have made a mistake in our process. We understand, and we take the criticism to heart. And of course we will correct it, the company writes in the press release.
LFC has also commented on the new logo on its website.
– A logo means a lot to many people, that was clearly noticeable last week. Supporters should want to wear our logo with pride. We took on board the criticism that came out and the agency has changed and made the lion more adapted and unique to us, says Erik Nordqvist, club manager to club website.
