Togg is inherently sustainable
Karakaş emphasized that Togg has shaped its sustainability strategy around actions that will create value for the user; “We also adopt our user-oriented approach in our sustainability activities. In this way, we place the understanding of creating common value together with and for our stakeholders at the focal point of all our processes and structure them around this. In terms of both product and process, carbon emission, waste management and recycling, energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources and environmental compatibility are among the topics we focus on.
On the social side, we focus on creating value for society together with all stakeholders. The reliability of our products in terms of health and safety, both during production and use, is also a very important part of sustainability. Our dyehouse in our Gemlik facility is the cleanest in Europe, with a “volatile organic compound” emission of less than 5 gr/m2, with a value of 1/9 of the legal limit in Turkey and 1/7th of the legal limit in Europe. In the circular economy, recycling of products, and the issue of ‘secondary life’, we also focus on the battery issue with sensitivity.”
