Blizzard has finally introduced the features of Season 3 in Diablo 4. MeinMMO summarizes the most important content for you.
That is new:
In order to play the seasonal content, you must first complete the campaign. This is how you prepare for Season 3.
These are the highlights in Season 3: The Seneschal is the main feature from Season 3. This mechanical companion can be customized so that he can tank for you or deal damage. You also use runes to determine what the artifact can do.
To do this, you place stones in the seneschal:
Vaults are a new dungeon type that comes with many traps. Here you have to exchange a new currency, Pearls of Protection, for “Zoltun’s Protection”. You will receive pearls from the new construct opponents. A stack of Zoltun’s Protection disappears whenever you fall into a trap.
If you manage to defeat the final boss and still have stacks left, you will receive Wirewoven Chests as a reward. These have an increased chance of getting legendarys. From world level 3 there are also nightmare vaults to explore.

Campfire Chat on January 18th explains all the features in detail
The promised leaderboards will appear later in Season 3. There are also weekly rotating dungeons with a fixed layout in which you can compete with others. There are also a few quality improvements, such as:
In addition, an old criticism is finally addressed: Hellfloods will be active almost permanently. There is only a 5-minute break between two floods, so you don’t have to time your free time with a spawn.
The developers want to explain further details about Season 3 at the Campfire Chat on January 18th at 6:00 p.m. on YouTube and Twitch. Questions from the community are also answered there.
The season is expected to last 3 months, i.e. run until the end of April. That’s why a new feature will probably come into play during the season: ray tracing, which is intended to improve the graphics, will appear in March. But players aren’t entirely sure whether Diablo 4 needs better graphics.
